La Sportiva Python Slipper, by Stevie Haston.
You are generally a slipper climber, or a rock shoe climber, I am both. This new slipper from La Sportiva is worth looking at from climbers who maybe haven’t yet tried a slipper before, mainly because of its instep strap. This Velcro strap secures the heel very firmly in its cup, and provides a very secure fit. This means you have great heel hooking at one end and at the other your toes are well pushed into the end for small edges. It’s a great bit of climbing kit but its even better when you look at the toe and see the extra rubber on top for toe hooking and foot clamping. The great advantage with a slipper is its on and off possibilities, and this is a real quick shoe. It’s perfect for hard bouldering, as you need the precision fit, but can quickly hook the heel off while you are resting. It is the same deal for multi pitch, hook them off on the belays, and give your feet and toes a rest.
The toe is a turn down design, so you can do real high steps and still have a negative angle. Real great rubber, all in all this is defiantly a go. Big thumbs up from me.
